Why take the survey?
The State of Play NSW Developer survey is the largest, most comprehensive study of independent game developers in NSW.
It is open to a diverse range of local developers of all sizes across the state, as well as developers who have recently left NSW.
The report we compile from the survey results is used to inform the strategy of screen bodies, state and federal government agencies.
If you are a NSW game developer, this is the best way to make yourself heard, be counted and let government agencies know what you need to thrive in NSW.
What is State of Play NSW?
State of Play NSW is a 100% not-for-profit advocacy group dedicated to delivering meaningful outcomes for NSW Indie Game Developers through:
Improved Funding: Advocating for production funding, mid-career development support, and international opportunities.
Visibility: Promoting NSW indie games on state, national, and global stages.
Community Building: Strengthening the local indie ecosystem through events, surveys, and collaboration.
Data-Driven Advocacy: Using research, surveys, and annual reporting to inform funding bodies and government policies.
